Why a Nature Preschool?

One of the largest studies into the effects of outdoor activities on children’s wellbeing was done by the Institute of Education at UCL. The findings concluded that children showed an increase in their personal wellbeing and health over time, and they showed an increase in nature connection and demonstrated high levels of enjoyment. Additionally, they gained educational benefits as well as wider personal and social benefits. :

  • 90% felt they learned something new about the natural world.

  • 79% felt their experience could help their school work.

  • 84% felt they were capable of doing new things when they tried.

  • 79% felt more confident in themselves.

  • 81% agreed they had better relationships with their teachers.

  • 79% reported better relationships with their class-mates.

Each generation experiences less of the outdoors than the preceding one. We hope that Wild Acorns can help reverse this trend and give little ones the sense of awe, wonder, confidence, and health that comes from enjoying learning outside.

We are excited to offer the magic of preschool that involves plenty of fresh air, squirrels, acorns, hens, gardens, and lizards to enjoy!
